The sad, sad Chicago Cubs

I have to say the cubs have managed to exceed even my expectations for ineptitude in their inevitable failure. While some might accuse me of bitterness as a fan of the second-worst team in baseball, I have to say that the cubs just wouldn't be the cubs if they didn't do this sort of thing.

I am slightly disappointed that they did so poorly that I can't even espouse my conspiracy theory involving the trib and the potential sale of the cubs. That involved losing in the NLCS in 6.

That said, I think the BoSox are going to regret having shown Manny the door, I'm taking the dodgers over the rays in 6.

The "trib"? "NLCS"? "BoSox"? "Manny"? "The dodgers over the rays in 6"? I have literally no idea what any of that means.

So baseball has a whole language to itself... let's see...

trib - half of a small creature that might invade the Starship Enterprise.

BoSox - something you inject into your forehead.

Manny - the pet name for your favourite mannequin.

The rest is lost on me too :)

hm, good point. next i'll try a cricket post, which also has it's own language. the only difference is that every term is a different meaning of the word "wicket".

Just got around to the blog. And, btw, I had playoff tickets; but could the f*cking Cubs make it far enough for me to make good on those tickets? Well, you know the whole depressing tale. PS. Manny, Nomar, and Torre deserve their own circle of hell... but I think that's the BoSox fan in me speaking.
